The fit and finish is untouchable. Montage is a work of art which is why I upgraded those pre-year 2000 rubber knobs to CNC machined stainless knobs. Something this refined shouldn't have outdated rubber knobs on it. Some folks thought I was crazy but they can keep their rubbers if that makes them happy. 😀

See here if it will upload. There are many styles and shades and diameters. These are narrower than the stock knob so you have a better perimeter field of view of the LEDs plus they are reflective. They also have a brushed finish. Matte black might also be cool.

Also see this Plugable hub where the Montage recognizes everything attached to it including the monitor.

Here's a better view of the blending of textures.

This shows the hub in action on the bottom with the LED plugged into the hub. The hub is plugged into the Montage. The LED is displaying all of the USB devices attached to the hub.

Here's another Montage hack screen shot. The montage is effectively controlling all 16 channels under keyboard control. Note the sound level indicators all active.

Nice! the knobs look like a nice touch. very premium looking. the only problem is that you have indicator marking on each knob, which doesn't indicates anything, because they're rotaries...

but to tell you the truth? I love the rubbery knobs on the Montage. those are not the same plastic knobs which were used on the old Motifs. its high quality non slip rubber!

Most knobs including the premium ones have those indicators and usually it's not optional. I could buff those dots out perhaps but they don't bother me. I repair all Yamaha gear and those rubber knobs look like the same knobs from the RS7000 since I have containers full of them. They're okay for stock knobs but the Montage is on a different level IMO and according to their Montage development literature. They cut no corners except for the knobs but as long as they are functional I'm sure no body really cares about it. BTW there are hundreds of premium knob options if you don't care for mine.
