You cannot save libraries from the Montage! I assume you mean saving a backup.

The best option you have is to insert a USB stick, go to "Utility->Store/Save". Then select in the left upper corner (roughy) "Content Type" the option "Backup File". This is only possible if you have already a newer version (I believe) 1.5. When you do this, all data including the libraries is saved. That means if you take the one file and take this to any other Montage and play it back that Montage will be in the some state as the original one.

If you do have an older OS which does not have the backup option, then you have to select the option "User File". Then you get one file but it does not contain certain settings. Also it does not contain any of the libraries. When playing that back you should first load all the libraries in the oder they are listed in the "Utility->Data Utility->Library" screen. You need to have the original library files on a USB stick as well for that. Then replay the user after restoring all the libraries. Again, the order is important.

So if you can use the backup. That's the easiest. It may take a long time, though...

As I wrote to my knowledge it is not at all possible to save any library from the Montage. Except as part of a backup - which you apparently cannot do. You need to have the original library files in that case.

Please describe what you are doing when you try to save the libraries. I guess in that case you are simply saving the user file. Not sure...

Hello.
What you save as library file is the content of your User area, not Library's data.

Save your user file as User on your usb stick.

Normaly you must have your library data on your computer (for example Bösendorfer, Chick Corea, Montage Xpanded .....commercial sound bank)

If it's not the case and if you are not on OS 1.50 or 1.51 to save all your data (user+ all library's) in a Backup file, after saving your user data on usb stick :

Delete user data from Utility > Settings > System : initialize user data.

Import your first library on user area, save it on usb stick as library file.
Delete user data

Import your second library on user area, save it on usb stick as library file.
Delete user data

Import your third library on user area, save it on usb stick as library file.
Delete user data

The best way to not have to done this process is to always have a copy of each library on your computer.

When your will be on OS 1.60, after reloading user and all your library's, save a Backup file 😉

What you need to know is it is always wise to keep your firmware up to date.

If you have three Libraries installed to your MONTAGE, you should locate those three files .X7L before you proceed with the firmware update. If the data is installed you have already the files that put the data there. If you have lost or mislocated those files, you will need to recreate them.

You should back a USER File to save your current User Bank data... because you will need to clear this Bank to create your Library saves...
Make sure you have a .mid File for each song in the MONTAGE Play/Rec area.

How to make Library Files from installed Libraries
You do so one at a time.
[UTILITY] > “Settings” > “System” > Touch the box “Initialize User Data” to clear the USER BANK

[UTILITY] > “Contents” > “LIBRARY IMPORT”
Touch the Folder for the first Library
Touch the box “Select All”
Then touch the box “Import to User Bank”

Once Imported ...save as a LIBRARY FILE
Put in a safe place so you don’t have to do this again.

Rinse and Repeat for each installed Library

thank you, badmister, i was very far from that. i guess with the 1.6 os, only 1 back up file will be enough.
