Since the Reface is intended to quickly grab and play, I was wondering what the "boot" time is of each Reface? In other words, when you turn the unit on, how long will it take before you can play the instrument?

And does it differ between the four Refaces?

My Tyros5-76 takes 16 seconds to start-up, which is nice for a "non-mobile" instrument. I hope the Reface is quicker, since I intent to use it for multiple, shorter sessions a day, instead of sitting down and play for an hour on my Tyros.

Thanks in advance!

Wow, that is fantastic!

That means that the Reface series are inviting to play. My guess is that the people who are now complaining about the mini keys (and who haven't played the instrument yet) are going to get quiet when in the near future keyboardists who actually own the CS, DX, YC or CP are writing stuff like "Yes, the Reface has mini keys, but guess what... I play it more often than my full size keys instrument!".

It also means that Yamaha really understand the mobile world/market. It's like the tablet vs. desktop thing. If you want to get real work done, you walk to your desktop computer, sit down, and do your work for an extended period of time. When you sit on the couch or bed, you grab your tablet and read some mails, browse the Internet, watch a streaming video, etc. Tablets start up instantly, and so does the Reface.

I can't wait to get my CP!

Yeah! I just received my Reface CP!! 😀

Out of curiosity I timed the start-up time of the CP: it's 5.5 seconds.

I like this. You grab the instrument, press the power button, sit down, put the Reface on your lap and you can play.
