Feature request for Yamaha CK61/CK88: more flexible 3-part split/layer configurations

Please consider adding more advanced split/layer zone combinations for the 3 internal Parts.

A particularly useful example would be:

  • Part A across the full keyboard
  • Parts B and C only on a limited zone (left or right side)

Example use cases:

  • Full-range piano on A
  • Strings + lead only on upper zone
  • Full pad on A with a layered brass section on the right
  • Organ full keyboard with a synth layer only on top notes

Current CK modes are simple and fast, which is great, but more flexible combinations would make the 3-part engine much more powerful for live performance while keeping the same intuitive workflow.

Even just a few extra templates would greatly expand the musical possibilities.

Welcome to the forum!

You may want to edit your profile so that your email address isn't publicly displayed.

Also your IdeaScale suggestion was recently moved to the 'Assessment' stage which means it is in the pipeline to be further reviewed and considered for implementation. Don't be concerned if you don't receive any further notice as to the status of your idea since development plans and schedules are proprietary and not publicized.

For others you can read/support the idea submitted on IdeaScale here:

If you have a particular issue/problem with your CK you can create a new thread and provide the details. Other users may then be able to suggest other ways to accomplish what you are wanting to do. You will get the best help if you can provide a step-by-step way to reproduce the issue since that provides others with the info they need to try to reproduce the problem on their own instrument.
