I am having trouble putting effects on a single performance for my modx m6.  can someone please walk me through step by step on how to do this.  I'm really frustrated.  I also have a montage m6 that I have hooked up a multi effects pedal to it so I can get effects on the performances.  please help.  also, will the effects stay on the performance when I switch performances.  thank you in advance.

There are two ways to use the internal effects on individual Parts.  The most straight forward is to use insertion effects.   There are two insertion effects per Part.  Shortened names are InsA and InsB.

The Montage M is so similar you can use videos for Montage M:

The last part of the video is important.  You need to [STORE] the modified Performance so your changes are saved.

The second way is to use system effects.  These are bussed effects that can be shared among all Parts.  Setting this up is a little more difficult so I'll leave out the details for now.

Using external effects on a single Part is more difficult since MODX M only has a single set of analog outputs.  What you would have to do is use USB audio output and route the Part you want external effects on to USB channels then route out this audio.  This is not going to be easy if your computer is a Windows machine and no walk in the park if Macos although easier.  I could provide more detail but will just leave it at this disclaimerish introduction.

One feature the Montage offers over MODX are assignable outputs which can be used as part of an external effects loop.
