I purchased this keyboard about five years ago brand new. I tried to upgrade the sounds and I did not and I repeat. I did not back up the sounds. One day while playing at church all of a sudden, my piano, keyboard last all the sounds that I had programmed. I went home and I tried to do a back up or it was too late. I need help. Is there anyway I can send this keyboard so that they can add the sounds again? It’s a very expensive keyboard that I have just sit in there around because I can’t play it. There are no sounds. Just basic pianos here and there, but not even close to what came with the keyboard. Is there anyone that can help with this? I am a Choir Director with a tight budget and I’m not able to buy another keyboard.

Welcome to the forum!

There may have been a delay in your post showing up since you are a new user.

Sorry to hear you are having problems.

1. The Modx comes with over 2,000 preset performances

2. The presets are in read only memory so you can NOT erase them

3. Any user performances you create using the STORE button as also saved in read only memory

4. user performances can be deleted by the user

5. user performances will be deleted if you use one of the 'Initialize' buttons on the Utility->Settings->System screen

6. user performances can be deleted if you perform an OS update

7. once deleted user performances can only be recovered by loading a backup, user or library file

I tried to upgrade the sounds

Can you explain what that means? Did you perform an OS update? If so the instructions would have told you to do a backup first to save your user data.

One day while playing at church all of a sudden, my piano, keyboard last all the sounds that I had programmed.

The instrument should not 'all of a sudden' lose anything at all even if the power goes out. And by 'sounds that I had programmed' do you mean performances that you created and saved using the STORE button? If so those sounds should only be deleted as mentioned in the list above.

I went home and I tried to do a back up or it was too late.

If the user area has been cleared there is nothing to backup.

I need help. Is there anyway I can send this keyboard so that they can add the sounds again?

No - there is no way anyone can add your own user sounds except from a backup, user or library file that you created and saved onto a usb stick or by using Modx Connect.

It’s a very expensive keyboard that I have just sit in there around because I can’t play it. There are no sounds. Just basic pianos here and there, but not even close to what came with the keyboard. Is there anyone that can help with this?

Please clarify. You said 'There are no sounds' but are the 2,000+ presets still there?

If there are no sounds at all, not even presets, then you have a major failure that only a repair center can look into.

If the presets are there but your user performances are missing there is nothing anyone, including you, can do without a backup, user or library file that you created containing your performances.

I am a Choir Director with a tight budget and I’m not able to buy another keyboard.

The bad news is that if the keyboard itself failed you will either need to have it repaired or replaced.

If it is just your own performances that are missing you will need to recreate them and then make a backup.

Didn't backup as a first step before upgrading firmware or adding content.  Apparently lost content.  That's a mistake unlikely to be repeated.

Any excuse to backup your keyboard is a good one given even the devices you trust to your backups fail.  And get those loaded into your computer and email yourself a copy of your backup.  That's 3 redundant copies of the same backup (USB stick + computer hard disk + email attachment).
