Edit the Part(s) that are on the side you want to raise and change the note shift setting for that Part to +12 (add 12 to whatever is already there if you can).

Each Part has a Part Common "General/Pitch" -> "Pitch" screen where note shift is a parameter you can edit.

There are also other menus that allow editing the same information but summarize all of the detune and note shift values for all Parts on a single screen.  That's a way too but the way I suggested has you first touch a Part from the home screen so you better know what you're editing.

Scenes are also a way to do this now with the M series but that's more appropriate if you wanted to have the note shift change by pressing a scene button.   Not that you have to - you could elect to leverage scenes to "permanently" shift the notes by an octave.  It's best to tackle direct parameter editing first then explore scenes, which are offsets to parameter, at a later time.  I would say direct parameters are fundamental and scenes would build on this.

I have managed to split the keyboard, but am trying to raise one side by an octave but so far without success, any help would be appreciated.

That 'without success' is NOT your fault - what you are trying to do just isn't possible using the current functionality on a Montage M or Modx M.

You can't really 'split the keyboard' on those instruments the way you can on earlier instruments. That may sound 'argumentative' but it isn't meant to be so please reserve judgement until you read the explanation.

That screen is accessed using the front panel SPLIT button. Although it appears to show four 'splits' (A,B,C,D) each of those is really just shorthand notation for a key range. Those A,B,C,D regions do NOT have any functionality of their own so there is no way to use note shift or transpose on one, or all, of them.

1. there are ALWAYS 3 split (4 regions) points available but the 'Split Points' setting (3 in the doc screen) determines how many are shown on the screen. 

2. the regions are ALWAYS contiguous and span the entire key range. 

3. each region ALWAYS contains at least one key.

4. Region A ALWAYS starts at C-2 (lowest MIDI note value) and both ends at, and includes, the split point #1 setting

5. Region D (whether you use it or not) ALWAYS ends at G8 (highest MIDI note value) and starts at split point #3 + 1 semitone

6. The split point values you provide determine the END key of a region

7. You can assign a part to A,B,C or D and, using shift, to multiple regions but the result will ALWAYS be a set of contiguous regions. So if you assign part 2 to D when you also assign it to B it will include C automatically in order to be contiguous.

8. IMPORTANT -changes made on the split screen will be applied to the relevant parts when you press the DONE button on the screen but changes made on other screens will NOT be reflected in what you see on the split screen.  So if you change the start note for a part on the performance home screen it can get replaced by changes you make on the split screen.

The above can cause some unexpected, but predictable (assuming you know the above rules), effects.

TIP #1 - the SPLIT screen is just a shorthand way to make initial key range assignments for your parts. But if you then manually change the key range for a part it will no longer match what you see on the split screen.

Now that you know HOW it works on the M you can see why it wasn't your fault you couldn't do it.

Because there is no 'split' object to apply a note shift to you need to do the note shift for each part separately as another poster was explaining.

Which, of course, means the note shifting you apply really isn't synced at all to whatever you did on the split screen.

Edit your profile - right-click on your display name to bring up your profile main page.

At the right side below the 'Joined' and 'Last seen' dates you will see three icons. Move your mouse over the icons to see a popup description of what each icon does.

The icon with the 'gear' symbol is 'Edit Account Information'. If you select that it displays a page with things you can change and one of them is 'Display Name'.
