Hi all, I was wondering if somebody else has experienced the same problem i’ve had two times now, playing the Modx M8.
What happened is that suddenly the keyboard stopped producing sound, seemed to buffer the midi and the after about two seconds released all the midi to the tonegenerator resulting in all these notes playing at once.
The perfomance is a custom performance CFX1 layered with CFX2.
Ive experienced this with software version 1.1 and the last 3.0.
Seems like an internal CPU or process hangup or overload (But I wasn’t really pushing it at that moment).

I played just the same pattern. When the vocals start you hear no sound and after that all notes together (random timed). After that all seems to work fine (except my heartbeat).

What 'vocals'? Are you using a song (midi) file? audio (wav) file? pattern?
As a new user the link to your example was apparently removed by Yamaha.
But what you describe sounds like a delay involved with loading a file from your usb stick.
Do you get the same type of delay if you use the same performance setup but without the midi/wav file?

It would be interesting to know if your keyboard is completely standalone or if there is another device (computer, MIDI device, etc) connected.

I have noticed this once, exactly as you described. It happened when I first turned on my modx m8 after taking it out of the box. So it was standalone, nothing connected but audio and maybe a sustain pedal (can't remember), and on the default first performance. I just played some piano chords, so also not pushing it.
I figured it had something to do with initialization or something, since it were the very first notes I played. It wasn't on OS 3.0 yet.
Hasn't happened since, but it is kinda worrying it happened to you twice...

The unit was standalone and no USB attached, only sustain pedal. The second time I had this problem was also using the piano patch and using sustain. I wasn't using any wav's from USB drives, the delay happened while playing the internal piano patch (felt like it buffered between midi and tone-generator).
Haven't yet found a way to reproduce it intentionally.

Sorry, but nothing comes to mind.
If the unit isn't cabled to anything then it can't be impacted by an external timer or tempo issue. And if it isn't using a MIDI or WAV file then shouldn't be an USB access or issues that might cause a buffering effect.
So the only thing that 'should' affect a delay is the programming of the envelopes on one of the parts. But that seems like a stretch since we've never seen someone intentionally delay at the start of a piece.
