Yamaha seems to have NO INTEREST in adding 'glissando' apparently.

One of us resubmitted an idea Jason had submitted 6 years ago: https://yamahasynth.ideascale.com/c/yamahasynth/idea/192388?utm_source=notifciation&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2160&utm_term=idea-status-change&utm_content=c245.m3261.rpe.w206

It got moved to the 'Recycle Bin' almost immediately.

We had linked in the original idea submitted by Jason some 6 years ago. That idea is still in the 'assessment stage'.

Perhaps the internal design doesn't allow for adding glissando or maybe there are other reasons.

At any rate, videos confirm he tends to do what looks like a natural harmonic and other live cuts it's all one note and a wammy bar so this is relatively easy to automate with either an ARP or a motion sequence triggered by velocity or note (using an ARP triggered motion sequence).

Even in the video here he does a quick slide but it's not part of the core sound.  More like just a quick blip of fret noise before the wammy stuff.  So that isn't needed.

The pick scrape stuff at the end you can leave off.  If you watch enough live cuts he doesn't even always do the wide vibrato.   This isn't even in each rendition at all.  So it kind of boils down to how close to the studio recording you want to get.   If you wanted to add the pick scrape stuff you could also not use ARPs for that and use regular elements with the noise but add a note delay so the single trigger that starts the wammy stuff would also trigger the pick scrapes but with a couple delays in a couple of elements so it hits after the wammy stuff is done.

Narfsounds should still have the Modx covers set that included Rebel Yell as demo'd in this video

Thanks Toby. I've been purchasing Francis' stuff since day one starting with his first set. I have all of them of course. The section in the video you posted is not the section I've been talking about. I never asked him why he didn't include that sound in the performance, I just assumed he thought the guitar player would play it.

I really thought this would be easy to do, but I guess I was wrong. Seemed like a simple waveform sliding up in pitch to a vibrato.

Ive also got this pack, and in fact also got it just for this song, but as you say, it's not got that sound in it. Thats why I went looking for the sound on the web.

Not what I used, but even something like this (the latter part of the video) could work with a bit of fx on it.

Or this, around the 10 second mark.

Hi Dave. I mistitled this post because that's not the sound I was looking for. Go up a few posts and you should see and hear the sound I'm looking for.

Again, I misspoke when I said 'Glissando'. I guess what I meant was 'Portamento'. We'd want the slide to be smooth like you'd get with the whammy bar.

Ah yes, I can see that now. Sorry for the confusing posts.
