I have created an instrument track in Logic Pro in which I am using the "CFX & Orch" sound from the MODX8+. But I am finding that this sound seems to have a crescendo setting assigned to the sound. I don't want this. You can hear it in the attached file. It sounds like an up and down sound (it drops down every time I use the sustain pedal).
I went into Logic and changed the sound to a VST from Spitfire (Intimate Strings), but the same effect is still occurring. And in looking at the Spitfire VST settings, there is no auto crescendo setting available.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Raphael
That tremolo-like result appears to be baked into the waveforms being used.
Disclaimer - our checks were done on a Montage M8X but are likely to be using the same waveforms as on your instrument.
On the M8X that performance has 3 parts but yours likely has more. Part 3 is the 'Brass Ensemble'.
We soloed part 3 and you could clearly hear the effect. Examining part 3 didn't show any lfos, motion sequences being used so we started checking the elements.
The 'Frhorns2 mp St' waveform (#1477 for the Modx8+) has the effect. See p.66 of the Modx+ Data List doc.
1. load Init Normal (AWM2) - it only has one element
2. replace the waveform in the one element with #1477 and you should hear the effect
Trying several of the For the M8X those ensemble waveforms showed all of them have a built-in tremolo sound
But I am finding that this sound seems to have a crescendo setting assigned to the sound. I don't want this.
Not sure you can do anything about it since the effect is in the waveform samples themselves. As far as we can tell there aren't any params that are causing or enhancing that sound.
That performance uses waveforms in the 'Ensemble' sub-category. There are like-named waveforms in the 'Solo' sub-category so you could try those or try a different performance.
Your question is the first one we have seen where the problem does NOT appear to be due to configuration settings like effects, sequences, arps or such.
