I sometimes use an arranger, when I'm doing some small duo/trio gigs with no drummer (I turn off the other backing parts). I've been thinking about whether I could sometimes use the MODX for this, and was looking at, for example, this library...

...which builds some arranger functionality out of ARPs. I've never used ARPs, so these questions are very basic, but I'd like to know...
... Can you start and stop the ARPs with a foot switch?
... Before you start playing, is there a visual indication of the tempo? (e.g. superknob blinking)
There's a way to make Superknob blink in tempo. It's a configuration. Tempo is also at the top of the screen I believe but Superknob would be easier to deal with at a gig.
ARP triggers are all note based. As far as I know there's not an ARP trigger button like motion sequences have. There's an ARP mode where you can have the trigger key(s) start AND stop the ARP. So you could set low or high keys as on/off momentary switches for ARPs.
Otherwise the "only" way to control ARP on/off would be to hold down a key and let go to stop.
If you have a pedal that can send note on/off then it can be used to trigger and keep ARPs running or turn them off. It would be pass through of what you could do with a physical piano key.
