The motion sequence is triggered by a key press and assuming loop is on, it will run "forever" unless you press the Motion Sequence Hold button or turn off motion sequence.

Re this forum, is there any way to change my profile so it doesn't show my email address?  Is there an admin I should ask about this?

@Blake - as far as I can tell all new users have their email exposed. The exposing only seems to go away after some period of time. It is as if the user is in a 'quarantine' of some sort and needs a moderator approval and then their email is hidden. I seen posts in other forums from users that say they won't create an account here because it exposes their email.

The sign-in process doesn't allow for you to create a display name as it did before.  Now the system always makes your full email address the display name in the forum and expects users to post a certain number of approved messages before they get the right to edit their profile information which includes the display name.  I'm guessing this is an attempt to curb spamming but it also has an impact on privacy. 

As far as I know, there's no way to opt out of having your email address exposed and there's nothing in the privacy notices that explicitly shows that your email will be exposed just by signing up.  I say this because the forum displays the latest member who has signed up so automatically your email is shoved out there and any scraping tools used by other entities trying to collect email addresses can monitor the forum.

I believe this is a violation of the ECPA which Yamaha purports to adhere to.  If the forum doesn't change how it works, there needs to be a checkbox:

"During a period before 10 messages have been approved by moderators, your email will be displayed in the forum.  Please authorize disclosure of your email address to anyone accessing the forum: [Y]es, [N]o"

And if you pick "No" then it tells you the account can't be created.

But really, I think there's a better way.  Since new users have to have their messages approved first - I don't know why they couldn't first enter in their "display name" and use that instead of exposing personal data which emails are considered under ECPA.  ECPA is a US regulation and I'm sure there's other regulations around the world that the current behavior violates.

I'm not surprised to hear that.  I wasn't really very happy about my email address being exposed, but hopefully it was for a short enough time to avoid getting onto yet more spam lists 🙂

Wow, if it means everyone's first 10 messages require moderation, that's quite a lot of work for the mod team.

You have the ability to select a user name on sign up. If no user name is selected it defaults to the email address. We are working towards a solution that forces a user name that isn't the email address. Stand by.

Where's the username collected?  I don't see it.  When I last made my comments I created a new user and went through the whole process never seeing a way to assign a "display name" (username).  And I rechecked today and didn't see any different prompts.   Here's what I see today:

.... and what this does is setup based on the email.  I didn't see anywhere after signing on where one could edit a "username".   If someone could walk through the process and verify this - that would be great.  If somehow there's a way - it's not obvious - so document some screenshots of what URLs to go to in order to be able to enter a username from the get-go.
