Hi everyone,
I’m a new member here and happy to join the Yamaha community. I enjoy music and have been interested in Yamaha keyboards and synthesizers for a while. Although this section is for non-synth topics, I thought it would be great to introduce myself and connect with other members who share similar interests.

I look forward to joining the discussions, learning more from you all, and sharing my own experiences along the way.

Nice to meet you!

Welcome to the forums!

Tell us more about your music background. How/when did you become interested in synths? Do you own any? What makes/models?

There are forums for most of the major instruments Yamaha has released and naturally the most active forums are the ones for the latest instruments: Modx and Modx M, Montage and Montage M, Seqtrak.

Blake Angelos, of Yamaha fame, has provided some basic guidelines here:

https://yamahasynth.com/learn/news/forum-etiquette-for-yamahasynth/

You are free to post in any forum you wish but your posts will usually get better visibility if they are in the forum for the instrument your question is about. Some users only monitor specific forums and may not see your post.

Posts can be for general discussion about interests or can be to get help for specific problems/issues you may be having with an instrument. For help with problems the more info you provide the easier it will be for other users to try to help you. In particular the instrument model, and OS version, can be important since functionality is different for different models.

Keep in mind that the only info forum users will have in trying to help you is the info that you provide. And we have no way of knowing what your level of experience is with any particular instrument or music in general.

Yamaha has produced a plethora of documentation, articles and videos over the years that cover their different instruments so don't be surprised if responding users include links to them for you to consider.

Looking forward to hearing more about your musical 'journey'!

Cool.  I'm a working musician who's been using mostly Yamaha and Roland gear for the past several decades.

Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R
