I recently bought a DX7S that had been stored for a long time. The previous owner had no cartridges and the voices were still good but had a low battery message. I did the typical installation of the socket for a new battery. When I turned on the voices had distorted names and a totally erratic sound.
I tried to load the voices from the computer by disabling the memory protection but the dx7s just stays in "now receiving" and does not finish the loading process
I hope someone can help me diagnose 🙁

It sounds like your DX7S might be having issues with its internal memory or perhaps the new battery isn't fully making contact. When you replaced the battery, did you double-check the connections and make sure everything was properly soldered?
