Hallo Bad Mister
All of a sudden Im having problem with latency , even when I decrease buffer to 32 which gives me input latency 1.814 and output 1.451 ms I still have huge latency while playing motif in cubase project. Seems like it started happening after I started using cubase mix console , I turned all effect off and closed mix console but doesn't help. All my tracks are still in midi , just trying to edit some instruments like I did before .....any idea what could change ?

Probably what you are experiencing has nothing to do with latency, at all. You'll have to give us a bit more detail for us to analyze what might be the problem. And what does a "huge latency" mean?

1.814 is not a "huge latency" by anyone's measuring stick. Very few human beings could detect this small amount. So we are going to conclude that what you are experiencing has nothing whatever to do with latency.

You have another issue all together.

We can give you a way to test but we need to know how you are monitoring - you should be monitoring direct - in which case, there is NO LATENCY - you are monitoring direct. Why are you not monitoring yourself "direct"?

When you change from monitoring thru the VST Audio Lane to monitoring direct - do you hear a tremendous difference?

I'm probably not doing direct monitoring correct. What I do is....... while I'm in cubase with the vst editor online I press the monitor button on motif xf keayboard so it's blinking and that's it, then I play .I know there is some option in the motif screen in monitor window but I don't do any settings..???

The button on motif xf keyboard ,the one above play ,record ,stop controls. It written on it "monitor", so when I press it it's blinking green light and shows me some options in the motif screen ,like project, pan and so on......

Sorry, I don't get the joke. Seriously... you have button above the PLAY, RECORD, STOP controls that says "Monitor" and flashes GREEN. I don't get it! Give me a hint...

REMOTE ON/OFF doesn't look like "Monitor" nor do RED Flashes look Green.

Okay, I thought maybe you were kidding 🙂

The DAW REMOTE ON/OFF which uses the Motif XF REMOTE (port 2) to communicate discreetly with the DAW (Cubase) allows you to see many of the Cubase functions in front of you on your Motif XF screen. The purpose here is not to replace your computer screen permanently - but just when you are wearing your musician hat and don't want use a mouse to arm tracks, rewind, fast forward, solo, mute, etc.,etc. When you are ready to "play" (as a musician)... it is always disconcerting to click RECORD and then look for a place to put down the mouse during the count-in. The idea is to be able to navigate functions needed to record and playback; these are accessible without using a mouse - simply re-tasking the front panel buttons. Please see the Motif XF Data List Booklet page 149 for details of each feature/function. Or, there is a built-in quick reference, you can press the [SF6] INFO button then touch anything to see what it is assigned to do.

DAW REMOTE mode allows the musician to be their own transport operator. You can go into and out of record in a very familiar fashion - because you are using the buttons on the front panel of your Motif XF to control completely what happens is Cubase. And as you can see there are many screens and much you can customize and control. You can even have the METERING show up in the screen (Hold [F6 SHIFT] + [INSERTION EFFECT] to activate the Meters.)

Hallo Bad Mister
Oh ok, I thought it was for direct monitoring. Didn't really eraser he'd this option. But I'd like to use direct monitoring correctly. I just bought yamaha hs 50 monitor speakers so I'm set now, no more stereo receiver and so on.......
I've mooved also cubase and all projects from Mac mini to Mac book pro. I downloaded all the downloads necessary for Mac book pro. I have there mountain lion 10.8.5.
I fallowed your set up you described on www. Yamahasynth , most is ok, I got several times message that I'm missin plug in "motif xf vst" , how I check if I have it or no on my computer?
Also my window looks like this, pic below
So I don't have yamaha motif under remote devices like you do ......
How do I fix that?
