Hi, I have been using the Melas Voice editor for my MX.
I have been able to use the editor to edit the controllers sets 1- 6 to bias parameters to my Yamaha breath controller,
I really like using the breath controller when playing the MX - it is so expressive and the sounds are great.

It seems that with the Melas Editor, you cannot access poly/mono, arpeggio, or system reverb and and chorus settings. Is that true?
I can do that on the MX itself and then store to the voice. So it's not a problem - just wondering if I am missing something here...
Using Vycro MX editor, I can get to those parameters but not the control sets. Maybe I am missing something there as well!

Thanks guys, for all your wisdom on this forum. It took me several days of reading, fiddling, and reading again to work all this out. I could not have done it without you!

Yes, it is true. These are parameters that you add once you place your User Voice in an MX Performance.

The VycroMX Performance Editor is a Performance Editor (not a Voice Editor)... thus the difference.

You can open the Melas Performance Editor, access your User Voice, then set poly/mono (Modes), assign an Arpeggio, setup your Effect Sends. For the MX, these are Part parameters, and are added to the Voice when you use it in a 16 Part Performance.
Open the TOTAL LIBRARIAN, click on Editors, select β€œPerformance Editor”.

Hello everybody! I have a Midi Solution Breath Controller Box and an Yamaha BC1 breath controller. I try to learn how to adress the bc to different sounds of the Yamaha MX49 but with no luck. I may need to check out the manual with more attention. However, if you could help me with some basics about how to make this happen I will apreciate it. Last time I used the BC1 with a hardware Yamaha was with a CS01 mono synth and it was very easy because those 2 were already programed for each other. A few days ago I could succesifully control a soft synth, Synthmaster One on my Mac quite easily because in One it as very clear how and where to adress the bc to control different parameters.
So, if I would like to control let’s say, the Resonance of a sound in MX49 what do I have to do? I program everything via synth, no editor! Sorry for the ignorance.... and thank you in advance πŸ™‚ Doru

Because editing to include the BC as a controller is a "Voice Edit" parameter you will not be able to edit the MX without a Voice Editor, like the Melas MX Voice Editor. Sorry.

In the Reference Manual you will see certain items outlined in pink, these are the Voice Edit parameters that can only be accessed via MIDI parameters which means the Voice Editor.

If you want to unlock the power of the MX, all those parameters outlined in pink are accessible with the Melas Tools... the MX's bigger (more expensive) siblings have that capability from the front panel.
