If your goal is to edit Super Knob movement data, it would wise to set the Super Knob to send Control Change messages rather than System Exclusive data.

Press [UTILITY]
Select "Settings" > "MIDI I/O"
Set your Super Knob to cc95 for example.
This will allow you to output (and receive) the select cc number for Super Knob control.

Super Knob CC (Super Knob Control Change Number)
Determines the Control Change number generated by using the Super Knob. Even when the instrument receives MIDI messages with the same Control Change Number specified here from the external equipment, the instrument assumes that the message is generated by using the Super Knob. When “MIDI I/O Mode” is set to “Multi,” Channel 1 is used for transmitting MIDI data. When “MIDI I/O Mode” is set to “Single,” the channel specified in “MIDI I/O Ch.” is used for transmitting MIDI data.
Settings: Off,1–95

NOTE: When this parameter is set to off, MIDI data is transmitted by SysEx (System Exclusive) messages.

Is there any reason why it might be preferable to leave the Super Knob sending SysEx instead of CC messages? I'm tempted to just set it to send CC and keep it that way, so I'm curious if there is any downside to doing that.

Unfortunately i just cant find anythnig about "SUPERKNOB" in the Settings - Midi I/O Menu

Mine just has the following Options:

Midi - In out
Sync
Controller
Switch
Song Play/Stop
FS Assign

what am i doing wrong?
