Hi,
I have load a mid file to a performance in a user performance, it play fine, i store the performance.

My user performance is stored on Montage, but when i shutdown the Montage and after restart, the performance is here, but the midi file or song is not lnk to the performance.

I need to reload it from : Content > Load > Song and select the song.

Even if i store the performance after selecting the song (so it's not coming now from the usb stick, it's inside the montage), after shutdown and restart, the song is not "link" to the performance.

I have check the two manuals and didn't seen if there is somethig to done to keep the "link" from performance to song.

Does i miss something or there is no link beetween performance/song after shutdown ?
We need to reload each song to each performances we need to use, specialy for live gig ?

Thank you.

Hi Joel,

The Performance does not remember the Song. It is the Song that recalls the Performance. I'll explain...

From the HOME screen
Touch PLAY/REC or... Just hit the PLAY button.
This takes you to the Play/Rec screen
Touch "Song Name"
"Load" pop-in appears
This takes you directly to all the linked "Song&Performances" you have in memory.
Select the Song title to load both the Song and the Performance used to create it.
Press [>] Play

Explanation: the same Performance might be used for scores of songs. Say you are doing a solo piano suite, using the "CFX Concert" Performance... The suite consists of 15 Songs, which one Performance should be linked with the Performance?

See, it is the Song you recall, and it recalls which Performance. (Same as it is, in theory, on the Motif-series)... You recalled the SONG, not the MIXING... make sense?

Hi Phil, thank you it's clear, i have seen the "song & performance" folder in contents but does'nt be sure how to use it, your way is easy directly from play/rec.

At least, to be sure, i have only one and it's for example,, i do not use midi sequence on stage, i use samples or arpeggios (with the envelope follower it will be more great now with the Montage), it need to be done for each song, if a user have 5 song fto play on a gig , he need to done it for each song, start the montage, load the 5 song and ready for the gig ?

Hi!
i ran in the same trap...
My problem is - i'm using BandHelper App on iPad, wich switches the Montage's Performaces by changing the song in Bandhelper.
How can i do this with Midi Songs?

Greetings

Hi Christian,
It would really help me if you could tell me how you connect your montage to your iPad and how the hex code is inserted for performances. Do you use this set up in live set mode? thanks.

There's apparently not a unified way to recall the Song+Performance. By "unified" I mean a way that matches how all other Performances are recalled.

If you could save a Song + Performance into a live set, then you could use MSB/LSB+PC from an external device to recall the Song + Performance or use a unified interface (Live Set) rather than having different places to go to load Performances. If your Performances contain Song data - use of Live Set is hampered currently. Thankfully I have none of this so I can stick to the Live Set for loading all of my Performances for my gigs. I wouldn't want to dive through different menus to load things because there is no telling how much time I have to fiddle with the keyboard between songs. For me, this is most often driven by the audience more than it is a set duration.
