Sorry, this is not a technical question. Anyone have any luck finding a keyboard cover for the Montage 8?

Hi Paul,

I have this one from Guitar Center. It is basic but, keeps dust off.

I used to use those stretchy ones but then they are a pain. The beaded draw stings bang around, cut them off. The thing shoots off the corners like a sling shot. Then I get in a hurry and replace it upside down which dumps all of the collected dust back onto the synth. Now I don't cover it and I just keep a dust cloth handy. That padded cover looks okay but is expensive and then you have to have a place to sit it while you play. I do however keep an air filter running in my studio which helps catch/remove some of the dust.

Go to fabric store and buy some swimsuit material (enough to cover montage) add some elastic around the edges and you're good. been doing it since my Minimoog days.

I use the cover for Montage 8 from www.pianocoversonline.co.uk ref link below. I like it due to its quality and because it comes with a Yamaha logo. I have these covers for other keyboards as well. I found the covers by googling around. It is from UK so it may cost more in shipping to US than local covers here.

In the states, the following has been suggested on Motifator:

https://lecover.com/products.php?cat=6&scri=145&filter=motif

I don't see a Montage specific one yet - but the Montage cover from the uk site is the same part number as the Motif XF cover I believe.

Personally, I'd contact them first - maybe the website isn't updated or they'd be willing to ramp up production on Montage specific covers.

The "clear" option is kind of cool.

These guys have something and do custom work - more expensive than other options: http://www.studioslips.com/selected_model.php?ManID=80&CabID=8058&Type=DUST

I got the same one as Jeremy ... I'm very happy with it.... only waterproof one I could find, which is really important with occasional leaking upstairs plumbing, and cats that aren't concerned about the cost of what they decide to barf on.

If your pets are barfing and wetting on your Montage then dust is the least of your worries. 😉

I just bought one too for my incoming Montage!
I know that is a high quality cover 'cause I have the same type of covers for my two Neumann KH120A.
