Hi.
I have a XF6 and wanted to use the built-in ethernet port, however, it is not able to pick a DHCP from my home network. Everything seems to be plugged in correctly, and I made sure that the port on the wall is live and the ethernet cable is good.
My Motif XF6 IP address is stuck to a 169.xxx.xxx.xxx number and I don't know why its not picking a DHCP.
Do i need a different ethernet cable? straight or twisted pair?
Any help or direction would be really appreciated.

Regards

The IP Address should be set automatically. Each device on your network will be assigned a unique IP Address.

What is it you are wishing to do with your connection? The current situation with logging your XF onto the internet directly currently has a limited function. Yamaha has setup a basic path for this to happen - for possible future development. Currently you can find out about the iPad Apps. The Ethernet connectivity for Internet is still in is very infancy. You can anticipate that in the future you will be able to download content directly to your instrument via your Ethernet connection - but this is still "concept", not reality, quite yet.

A network connection to your computer will allow you to read Motif XF data from the computer, and to transfer data from your computer to a USB drive connected to the XF.
