Hi everyone. I recently bought a YAMAHA MOXF8 keyboard. It was brought to me from the States to Guatemala (where I live) by a friend. Now, 3 months later, 2 keys are driving me crazy. When i play A and Ab either of them sounds absurdly loud. It happens in all octaves. Same Keys. Today i found out it happens also when one plays D# coming from a D. Can anybody help me ? I will really appreciate it. Oh and I can not take it back to the States. It would be so expensive. Thanks a lot !

Sorry you are having an issue with your MOXF8. You should still contact the dealer where the instrument was purchased. Inform them of the issue you are having. There is no way we could do a diagnosis of the problem over the Internet. It certainly sounds like the instrument needs repair by an authorized service center.

Additionally, you might want to contact the Yamaha distributor for Central America located in Panama. They maybe able to help you locate an authorized repair/service center in your area.

Yamaha Music Latin America, S.A.
Torre Banco General, Piso 7, Urbanización Marbella, Calle 47 y Aquilino de la Guardia,

Bad Mister: Well, You should change it to Good Mister, cause you want to help others. i appreciate your response. Your advice is the best...the only problem would be transporting the MOXF8 there. But I will eventually have to do that, I guess... )or maybe Mexico which is our neighbor country...don´t you think ?). Well, anyway, before i do something like what you wisely recommend...ONE QUESTION... I did a "factory Reset on it...and...it did not work...the thing is: I discover that the Firmware it has is V1.01.0... and i have seen THIS Firmware MOXF6/MOXF8 V1.10 Operating System Updater 4.26 MB Last update: 7/17/2014.
I saw it at http://download.yamaha.com/search/product/?language=en&site=usa.yamaha.com&category_id=16381&product_id=1816956

1) ¿Do you think updating the firmware could help, Bad Mister?
If the answer is YES... (or at least giving it a try could save more expenses and trips) ... 2) How does one make an update of the firmware in this MOXF8 ?
I appreciate the time and effort you are taking !....
Thanks a lot !

P.S. I just found out this keyboard was bought at Ebay and it has a "REFURBISHED PRODUCT" sticker on the back... sad.

Thanks a lot Good Mister !!

No, I do not think updating the firmware would help. The problem you've described has nothing whatever to do with the firmware version. Your instrument should be looked at by an authorized service center.

The detailed instructions on "how to" update the MOXF are actually included in the download, please read them, twice. First time so you know what to expect, and a second time as you execute them.
