Hi,
I just ordered the mx49 and have a question about how I should record an external source (microphone) to Cubase.
My options seams to be to eithe buy an usb microphone or use a tradiditional microphone + a soundcard or mixer like the yamaha ag03.
Which option will achive the best resultat? Also, if I go with the soundcard option, should I connect both the mic and the mx49 to the soundcardf or would it be better to use the internal mx49 soundcard for recording midi to audio?

Obviously having a mixer gives you more control.

Without knowledge of what your goal is, (what you want to accomplish), it is very difficult to give advice.

The AG03 is a very powerful small format tool designed for home setups where you are recording with a computer and/or broadcasting online. It acts as an audio interface with a channel for a mic and stereo input for your synth. You should can get good result - it's all in how you use the gear, and what you want to do in terms of workflow.

Is it just you recording?
Are you recording multiple musicians?
Etc.

Thanks Bad Mister,
My goal is simply to first record midi tracks in Cubase and then record/convert it to audio and later add some vocal tracks.
If using the ag03 mixer, would I use the ag03's builtin soundcard for recording audio from both the microphone and the mx49? Or only from the microphone?

I decided to order the AG06, since the different in price was not much and it could realy be useful with some extra inputs. The mixer should arrive at the end of this week. Can't wait to try it out with the MX49.
