I really want to archive some of the patches I created on the DX, but I cant seem to make it work downloading or uploading.

I'm on 10.11.4, running Chrome 51.0.2704.103 (64-bit). I have the DX powered up and connected via USB when I log into the soundmondo website. After I log-in the top of the page says "reface Connected" and DX is highlighted in blue. I assume the dot is green, but with red-green colorblindness, I really can't tell. Anyway I decide to try sending a sound to the reface first, so I browse to a DX patch, and when I select one, I click the SYNC button at the top of the page and there is a brief pause and it jumps to the save page where it asks to enter name, description, tags, but sound is the same as what I have selected on the DX

Alternatively, I try to save an existing sound I made on my DX. When I click create, which the faq says is how I'm supposed to save sounds from the reface into soundmondo, it takes me to the same save page, and when I fill out the name/description/tags and hit save, nothing happens.

This webMIDI stuff doesn't seem to work (I've also ensured that permissions to send midi and sysex in chrome are enabled) and I'd much prefer old school serial MIDI which always works. Has anyone encountered a problem like this?

You can try this test - which bypasses all your settings - run Chrome in "incognito" mode and see if you get results. If this works you can be sure it is a setting you've made that is preventing normal operation. Running in incognito bypasses your settings and is like running in safe mode. Let us know.

Incognito mode didn't make any difference in behavior. I tried both uploading and downloading a patch, with no luck.

I loaded up MIDI Monitor to see if I could see the communication between Soundmondo and the reface. The following is what was sent to the reface and what the reface returned when I clicked "Create". I don't know how to interpret it:

To reface DX: F0 7E 00 06 01 F7
From reface DX: F0 7E 7F 06 02 43 00 41 53 06 03 00 00 7F F7

Arrgh, I just powered up my Reface DX and the dozen sounds I was trying to save are all wiped out, and returned to stock. This is truly annoying. The Reface should have a bank dump menu option so that any sysex recorder can receive and resend sounds, not relying on flakey web software. As it is, I don't feel like spending hours reengineering sounds that I have already lost once, and don't have any way to backup.

I have exactly the same problem. Two weeks ago it worked, but now I get exactly the same response as Geoff
I am using Chrome on a Mac OSX10.10.5 Yosemite. Soundmondo sees my Reface DX (connected) but I cannot download any browsed sound.
Also when I choose a sound from Soundmondo the DX editor is no longer appearing.

Did something change??

Undoubtedly, something has changed. Again try running Chrome in *incognito mode* to see if it is some setting your have in your personal preferences. Let us know.

A little bit of hope ...
I see the same behavior with OS X 10.11.6 if other MIDI devices are physacaly connect to your system beside the reface.
But If the reface is the ONLY MIDI device, which is connected, sync works fine.
As soon as a other midi devices get connected, sync no longer works.
BTW with OS X 10.6.8 things work fine...
