pan settings in multi seq play

Hi,
I'm using the s70xs with Ableton. Also Cubase. When I'm in multi/seq play in order to record with a sequencer, I can't get the pan settings to respond. That is I see the values change but there is no audio change to a sound's particular pan position. Everything remains in the center regardless of what I see in the display.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No audible change in position could be due to your setup... which you don't specifically mention. Try headphones to eliminate an issue with your current *audio output* to *sound system* arrangements. Let us know.

Another possibility is based in the particular sound you are attempting to move, if a sound is already sampled in stereo, panning it does not have the same dramatic results as panning a mono recorded item. Drum Kits have pan position per key and utilize the stero field a bit differently and is poor candidate to test overall panning via cc10, and so on,

Hello,
Thanks for your reply. When I use headphones everything works as it should. The sound moves from left to right according to where I position the pan. However when I use monitors which is most of the time, the sound remains in the center regardless of where the panning is set. This is with individual sounds and not drum kits.
I have the keyboard set up like this. Audio jacks out from the keyboard to a mixer which runs to a USB audio interface which in turn runs to powered monitors. I tried cutting out the mixer and ran leads straight to the interface. Still no luck. It would appear that I have something setup wrongly within the keyboard itself. But no idea what.
Again any help on this...

Thanks a lot.

Make sure you are connecting the main "L/mono and R" back panel jacks. Not the Assignable Jacks.
Make a backup ALL data file to save your current settings to a USB drive you use with the S70 XS.

Then do a Factory reset (Reference Manual p.145).
Press [UTILITY]
Select "Factory Set"
Press [ENTER]

Hello and thanks for your reply. I have the jack leads connected correctly and I tried the Factory reset before I wrote to you the first time. Just in case that that was the problem. However no luck.

Forgive me for asking questions, if they seem redundant and unnecessary, but these are necessary because I cannot know if you don't tell me...but how and to what are you connected as your sound system? In other words, are the left and right channels panned hard left and hard right.

It is impossible for the Main L and R outs to differ from the headphone jack, so it must be in your connections to the mixer or audio interface.

Hello and thanks again for your reply,
The left and right channels on the mixer are panned hard left and hard right. I hadn't realized that the main L and R outs cannot be different from the headphone out. I somehow thought that they were two different situations as one worked and the other, the main outs, somehow didn't. Anyhow after reading your last email it's clearly something that I have connected wrongly and not the keyboard itself which is a huge relief.

Thanks for all your help.
