Hi,

Can anybody tell me if I can reproduce some of the sounds from the Montage for the XF. In particular the guitar sounds? My friend has bought a Montage and I have an XF and I really like some of the sounds. Fiesta guitar is a particular favourite. Any links to related topics would be helpful.

Fiesta Guitar is made from new Waveform data, not available in the XF Wave ROM. MONTAGE adds a second fully articulated Nylon string guitar, expanding on Motif concept of availing the performer with various options... open, mute, dead string, pitch slides, hammer-on, harmonics, etc.

Fiesta Guitar is definitely made from Nylon2 Waveforms. In MONTAGE this is a three Part Performance which also features Key-Off Sound (Part 2), and a string pad (Part 3) on SK.

In general, when comparing Nylon1 and Nylon2 Waveform Sets, Nylon2 is brighter, fuller, and very present compared to Nylon1. You would pick (pun intended) Nylon2 for more aggressive play, while Nylon1 would be preferred on softer laidback songs. It’s Nylon string but more aggressive... more fingernails.

That said, you will not be able to duplicate exactly the Fiesta Guitar in the XF, because you don’t have access to the same Waveform
