Posted at another keyboard forum but was directed here...

Lest we forget how great Yamaha's keybeds feel to play from days gone by! Picked an SY77 up for cheap the other day.

Display is about dead, half the buttons are iffy, it's a 110v model, too - but still has sonic character and the keybed is perfect. Much better than most MIDI controllers out there at the moment. Only really got it to use as a controller for my Kronos after the displeasure of using an Axiom thing at a gig last week. It's a big and solid thing. I like that.

One question? How hard a conversion would it be to change it to a 240v supply? Anyone know if the transformer has different taps like the Roland 'Bando' supplies (if memory serves) had... like in the U20 etc... Would add an IEC connector too - hate captive cables!

Thanks, Adam

You should get advice from an authorized servicer for Yamaha synthesizers. You can call your local Yamaha for advice.
