Using the audiogram 6 as a sound card?

So I have this Audiogram 6 collecting dust and figured I would use it as a sound card on my pc(windows 7) and plug my headset(seinheiser pc350) in it.
Now given that the headset uses 1/8 jacks I hooked in 1/8 to 1/4 adapters to plug both the headphones and microphone of the headset.
It works for the audio out but doesn't seem to work as far as the microphone goes.
I'm wondering if anyone ever tried using it successfully in such a manner, what I may be doing wrong or if I'm just an idiot and it will never work for that purpose?

Sorry, we are at a disadvantage here as we don't know the sennheiser pc350; but will assume it I'd the standard gaming headphone/mic combo.

We have to ask, if you know about the AudioGrams sibling product the Yamaha AG06 which includes the connection option for such a headphone/mic combo.

Whether or not you can plug that 1/8" microphone into the regular input jack (even with an adapter) is questionable... And is the question you should ask Sennheiser. Does it require power from the device you plug it into? If so, adapting it to the unbalanced 1/4 input of the mixer will not work.
I'm guess here because I don't know the specs on the mic portion of your device.

And I would NOT suggest adapting it to the TRS input without knowledge of what it requires. Adapting jacks can make the cable fit, but this does not necessarily solve your issue. Do not adapt the mic jack without express instructions from the manufacturer. The XLR jack on the mixer has +48V and you don't want to fry that thing.. 1/8" microphones are outside my normal wheelhouse - so proceed with caution.

The AG06 talks about that type of 1/8" (color coded pink) headset mic uses something called "Plug-in Power" leads you to believe there is some sort of voltage requirement for this type of mic jack (and it's probably not +48V)!!!

Typically, headset mics have multi-banded jacks ... Some are stereo electret microphones with cancelling options... Adapting that for a TS quarter inch will definitely not work with a simple adapter.

Look into the AG03 or AG06 for a small format mixer that will allow you to do what you need, or contact Sennheiser and find out if it is possible to adapt that mic to a standard input and what, if any power it requires.

Be safe, ask first.
