Using the Moxf8 as a controller and Apogee Duet 2 as audio out

Greetings family. I have a question about how to run the Moxf as a controller only in my live setup. I use logic as my DAW. The reason I want to run this setup like this is because my Duet 2 can send a separate click track out to my drummer from the software. This is not possible from the Moxf because it is stereo out only. I know I have to setup the Duet as an Aggregate device. Can I just run the Moxf as a standalone synth and controller while not using the audio ins and outs in my MacBook pro? Thanks in advance.

Yes. If you don’t want to use the audio interface of the MOXF, then you don’t need to setup an Aggregate Audio Device. The Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver is a dual driver. You will need to use the MIDI part, but you’re going to connect the analog L/R audio Outputs of the MOXF to two inputs on your audio interface (Duet). Set your DAW to VST SOUND SYSTEM so that you are using it’s ASIO Driver for Audio. There is no need to use the Yamaha Steinberg USB (MOXF) setting here... your MOXF Audio is coming from the Duet using the Duet’s Driver.
