I received an email from Yamaha today regarding their current acoustic grand pianos. I have a Yamaha C7 that I purchased probably in the mid 80s. I would like to know what is the current grand most equivalent to my C7. Just curious. Life used to be simpler with fewer choices. Hopefully its one starting at about $239,000. That would be nice. Thanks is advance.

Welcome to Yamaha Synth...

Please visit the http://usa.yamaha.com website (or the equivalent if you live elsewhere) for information about Yamaha acoustic pianos.

The C7X probably would be the equivalent to the C7, but you can go higher than that if you wish 🙂

The CFX is the crowning achievement in the acoustic range now.. but explore there is much to see.

Thank you for this information. Not only is the sound of this piano superb, but the piano itself is incredibly well made. After all these years the ebony finish and brass wheels and hinges have kept their original shine and finish (with polishing). I love this piano, however, when I purchased it my father encouraged me to buy a 9'Yamaha Grand. I thought it would be too large, so I opened for the 7'. No regrets, but the mistakes of youth- sometimes you should listen to your father.
