Our current browser recommendation for logging on to YamahaSynth.com is Chrome or Firefox.

Safari Users: there is currently a conflict between Safari and the YamahaSynth.com login. There is a workaround that involves changing a privacy setting. If you’d like to try the workaround, go to the Safari menu pulldown, select Preferences > Privacy and uncheck “Prevent cross site tracking”. To learn more about this go here.

Yamaha USB MIDI Driver 1.5.0 for Mac OS

This is an important update for those running Mac OS 11 “Big Sur”. This update supports Mac computers using the new Apple manufactured silicon processors.

For previous versions of Mac OS with Macs running Intel processors you can continue using USB MIDI driver 1.3.2-2.

Download Yamaha USB MIDI driver v1.5.0 here.

You’ll only need this version if have the following:

  • You are running Mac OS 11 “Big Sur”, either Intel or a Mac with Apple silicon-based processor, with Rosetta2. (Note that Mac OS versions before Mac OS 11 do not work on Apple silicon processors).
  • Are connecting USB MIDI only instruments like the MOTIF series or reface. If you have MONTAGE, MODX, MX-Series, MOXF, CP Series or YC Series and use Mac OS 11 “Big Sur”, either Intel or Apple silicon processor, you’ll need the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver located here.
