Connecting MONTAGE
INTRO
The MONTAGE’s USB TO HOST port connects MIDI and multichannel audio to your computer or iOS device with a single USB cable. This lets you do things like:
- Record and playback MIDI and multichannel audio
- Control and monitor virtual instruments
- Play and monitor computer/iOS audio through the MONTAGE’s audio outputs
Follow these next steps and you’ll be connected in no time.
DRIVER DOWNLOAD AND INSTALLATION
You’ll need the Yamaha-Steinberg USB Driver to connect to your Mac or Windows computer. Here’s where to get it:

After downloading, unzip the file and follow the instructions located in the “Installation Guide” folder.
HARDWARE CONNECTION TO A COMPUTER
Connect MONTAGE’s USB TO HOST port to your computer’s USB port using a “type A to type B” cable:
In your DAW you’ll see MONTAGE appear as both selectable audio device and a MIDI device. Note that MONTAGE appears as the three-port MIDI device. For MIDI sequencing select MONTAGE Port One.
