This is a great story from Syntaur about finding and acquiring a DX1! The DX1 is one of the rarest Yamaha synths ever. Only 140 were ever made and as a result they are very difficult to find. In the video below, Sam from Syntaur takes you on his quest to capture a DX1:

It was a distinct honor to chat with Dr. John Chowning at Knobcon 2019, where he was the featured guest. In this episode of Behind the Synth, Dr. Chowning talks about his upbringing, college education, studies in Paris with the legendary Nadia Boulanger and more. It was a fascinating conversation.
