Dr. Mix Visits the Yamaha Synth Space

Dom Sigalas is a frequent contributor on YamahaSynth. You saw him co-host the MODX launch and present at NAMM, Superbooth, Messe and many more events. Dom is also a Steinberg product specialist and he works with the great YouTube music production and technology channel, Dr. Mix
.

Dom is a very busy guy, but he took time out of his schedule to visit the Synth Space at Yamaha Corporation of America headquarters. As the saying goes he was like “a kid in a candy store” playing Yamaha Synthesizers from the 1970s to today. Watching him play and talk about each synthesizer in the Synth Space is the reason why this is one of our favorite videos ever. Check it out below:

Superbooth 19: Mixhell Live Performance

One of the coolest performances in the Yamaha room at Superbooth 19 was Mixhell, the electronic music project of Yamaha drum artist and Sepultura co-founder Igor Cavalera and his wife Laima Leyton. They began performing together in 2004 and have collaborated with artists such as Diplo, MSTRKRFT, 2manydjs, and DJ Hell.

Mixhell performed a high-energy set featuring Laima on ReFace CS and DX connected to Ableton Live and Igor playing the DTX920K and Live Custom Hybrid Oak drum kits. Their music incorporates a wide range of influences from trance, techno, samba and metal. Check it out below!
