Hi, i love the C7 Sample on the Cp88. When i wear headphones it sounds full and realistic but when i play it with my Yamaha HS7 it sounds thin
and more artificial. Why is it like this and what can i do?

It shouldn’t. Can you give us some details on how you have the instrument connected to the speakers, where the speakers are placed, the setting you are using, any information will help. You can head down to your local music store and find the CP88 on display with HS7s or HS8s - check out how they have it setup and see how it sounds. But from the information you have given us, don’t know how we could possibly give you a meaningful answer... other than it shouldn’t sound thin.

The Cp88 is connected to a Steinberg UR44 through line in and then the UR44 to the Yamaha HS7. The speakers are placed in front of me on two monitor stands. My local store hasnt unfortunately HS7 or HS8 connected to the CP88. Hope that helps.... i have always to add some Mids in the EQ setting in order to get the sound "thicker". I first thought if it is because the HS7 are meant to sound more flat?

Hi. I had the same problem with my Focusrite 2i2. The piano sound connected to the line in´s was thin but the sound thru the USB was correct in stereo. I checked the spec on my Focusrite and the line in connections are in mono and get also mono signal of line out. You get a double mono signal of your piano sound on top of each other and it sounds very bad. You must be sure of that your UR44 have stereo out signal from line connections. I´m not shure it is. I have my CP88 piano connected to a line mixer on 2 channels full panorated L and R. Then the signal out from the mixer to the speakers.

Thanks for the idea! I plugged the Cp88 today direct in the HS7.. and it sounded better...perhaps i have to connect it like you did!

You can use the Steinberg UR44 if you do the following
Connect the Main L/R Output of the CP88 to two channels of the UR44...
connect the Outputs of the UR44 to your HS7s...
Use the “dspMixFX” application to setup the UR44. You want to Pair the two adjacent channels, then Pan one of the UR44 Channels hard left, the other hard right.
In the attached screen shot Channel 1 and 2 are paired and panned to accommodate a stereo input like the CP88.
