Can someone explain why is it that the CP73 headphone volume is quite soft? I've had the master volume and the individual pod volume on max (127) but it's still not that loud is there a setting which limits the max volume? It is also much lower volume when compared to the Cp88.
Anyone else noticed this, I'm on ver 1.10? Thanks.
The Volume your headphones can achieve is related to their resistance (measured in Ohms). The lower the resistance, in general, the louder they generally are able to sound. As with all sound generating devices, be careful with Volume directly in your ears.
Volume (loudness) is subjective — meaning we all may like a different listening level. If you are building a small home studio, a small format mixer can be used to act as a headphone amplifier.
Hi Eugene,
Yes, the output of the headphones is, annoyingly, very low! I have tried 5 pairs of phones with the same results on all.
Best,
Paul
Impedance matters. I use Yamaha HPH-MT8 (37 Ohms)
I find it still very low with Mackie MC-150 36Ohm Headphones which I only bought because I thought that 250Ohm of my Sennheiser DT770 PRO might be to much. No difference at all! Only acceptable if I turn master and section-volume up all the way, leaving me no headroom at all. So now I use a headphone amp...

Michael
Michael,
I have Beyer Dynamic 'DT880' PRO phones and, again, ditto for results!
Cheers,
Paul
