Help! Tried to purchase cp73, and had a knowledgeable sales guy PLUS the yamaha rep to assist... but, could not set up a simple midi controller to play B3 sound while leaving acoustic piano on the cp73. Thus, had to walk away... but I KNOW this unit can perform this basic function... what went wrong?

If you are talking about the CP73, it can be set to receive on a MIDI Channel. Incoming MIDI will allow your external keyboard to take the place of the CP73 keys.
