I own a CP1 and want to record the audio output of the CP1 into an audio interface (Apogee element). I know that the CP1 has balanced and unbalanced outputs, which is fine, but I want to know if the signal exiting it is low impedance or high impedance?

This is because the unit states that you need to state the analog level for the A/D conversion. I can choose from:

Inst - which is for connecting a guitar or keyboard or any high impedance instrument and contains a Hi-Z to Low-Z conversion circuit.
+4dBu - which is for connecting pro gear at +4dBU nominal level
-10dBV - which is for connecting semi-pro gear or instrument gear with outputs at a -10dBV nominal level.

So is the CP1 high impedance, -10 dBV or +4dBU?

The unbalanced 1/4" outputs are appropriate for connecting the CP1 directly to powered monitor speakers or an amplifier, as an Instrument.

The balanced XLR outputs are appropriate to connect to a mixer looking for +4dB signal. Eliminating the need for direct boxes.
