Hi folks,

I recently updated the OS on my fairly new CP73, no problem.

However, I wanted to start taking advantage of the library of uploaded user-patches on SoundMondo. As I understand it you have to 'allow' SoundMondo to have control of your PC - a pop-up window appears. Obviously you click 'allow.' Then, what is supposed to happen is that you are able to temporarily load the preset (ie. it is not stored) onto the CP73 and you can play/audition it in this manner.

The issue I have is that every time I connect the USB cable from the CP to the PC the former hijacks all of the audio-drivers on my laptop. I use (for Cubase and everything else) a h/w CI2+ Steinberg soundcard and everything get totally messed up (I have to reset it all from scratch!) every time I plug the CP in.

The CP has, I believe, it's own audio-drivers so that you can record straight into a PC (via USB) without the need for an external soundcard. This is all well and good but not a function that I am looking for at the moment. I would much rather be able to retain my PC audio-drivers in place whilst being able to enjoy the benefits offered by SoundMondo.

Many thanks in advance for any kind assistance offered here.

The CP Driver... “Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver” is the same driver used for your CI2 so nothing is hijacked. In fact, the Soundmondo app requires no audio setup whatsoever, as it strictly uses the MIDI communication portion of that same driver. You can choose to leave your audio setting as it was, the Soundmondo app will not be using, nor does it require the audio driver setting to be changed, at all.

(If, indeed, your computer switches to the CP, it is probably because it does not find the CI2 connected. It ‘knows’ to use the Yamaha Steinberg and the only device it finds that uses it is the CP73).

Your diagnosis of your issue is incorrect. Let’s see if we can identify exactly where your issue lies?

First, we’ll assume you are connecting with a computer (not an iPad or iPhone), correct?
Is it a Mac or a Windows computer?
Are you signed into your “My Yamaha Account” before attempting to sign in to Soundmondo?
Are you using Chrome as your browser?

Hi Bad Mister,

Yes, the Steinberg C12+ uses a Yamaha driver. I leave this soundcard plugged into my PC (Win_10) permanently. When I connect the CP73 to my PC (via USB cable) it goes into a different port on the PC (ie. so I can leave the soundcard plugged in).

I don't use a Mac, iPad or similar.

Chrome is my browser.

I always have issues logging into my Yamaha account. I mean I have to keep resetting my password.

Do you mean I need to be logged into HERE first?:

Much appreciated,

Paul

Hi,

On a side-note, if I may please, how do I subscribe to a thread? I can't find the option to do so? Hence I do not receive notifications of replies.

Thanks,

Paul

Here is a discussion already posted on the same topic you may want to refer to.
