When I hook up my CP-4 to Logic X, I can only trigger software plug ins using a midi cable. I won't work with a USB cable. Logic doesn't show me any incoming midi signal. I tried changing all the Midi settings in the Utility folder but nothing will work. Do I need a USB 3 cable? I'm using an old cable.
In order to use the CP4 STAGE via USB you must download and install the Yamaha βUSB-MIDI Driverβ appropriate for your computer type. Mac = USB-MIDI Driver 1.3.2-2 for Mac ... visit the corporate site and search for the CP4 STAGE product page, click on Downloads.
You must set the MIDI I/O = USB
You must use an appropriate USB adapter to connect to your computer. The CP4 STAGE uses a standard USB A-B cable. I assume youβre going to a Mac, then find the appropriate adapter to connect to the ports on your computer.
Thanks Bad Mister. Works now. In case you read my reply, I'm really bummed out that I bought the CP4 a half of a year before the CP88 came out. It looks like you just blew all digital pianos off of the market. But could you soothe me and let me know that you haven't put in a new action or updated the CFX sound? π
