Roland released RD-2000, Korg has just released the GrandStage. So, will there be a new Yamaha Stage piano soon ? Any clues ?Frankly speaking, CP4 is great keyboard but the design is boring and less functions compared to other competitors. I am waiting for a new stage piano with Montage-like appearance and Bosendorfer piano sound.
Yes, that would be nice, especially if it had Audio/MIDI over USB.
I have been looking at keyboards as my cp4 is now 3 years old. I have enjoyed it but tried the new rd2000. It's hard to tell if it sounds better as I couldn't do a side by side but it had four parts rather than just two with full keyboard polyphony on the v piano sounds plus another 256.
I have missed not having a multi key mix plus strings and pads although the cp4 has done a good job.
I was going to sell the Yamaha and get a roland then I saw the Nord stage 3 and it's grand imperial bosendorfer plus the Fazioli.Having played a a real Fazioli ( which is a spiritual experience) and the bosendorfer being my favourite I started to sell the Yamaha.
Then I realised the Nord has only two voices like the Yamaha. The cp4 is my first Yamaha and I have owned Roland's for 30 years.
What should I do. Is Yamaha going to stay with the others or should I move on?about 30 years ago they had a good stage piano( looked the same as the cp4) but then they dropped the ball. The cp4 is the first decent stage since then but Nord and Roland now rule the roost.
