I recently purchased some samples for my es6. I downloaded and unzipped the files as instructed and copied them onto a flash drive. However, when I tried to load the samples, it "recognized" the flash drive, but nothing after that. I bought my mac because I thought i hadn't loaded them onto the drive, but it's there. Obviously, I did something wrong and I now I come looking for answers.

Thanks in advance for the help.

See page 289 of the Motif ES Owner's Manual... you have to add two matching DIMMs sticks (sample RAM) before you can load samples... the screen should be telling you this when you attempt to load data. You are saying your ES is doing nothing... hmm, that might indicate a problem.

What type of file is the data you purchased. The three characters after the dot tell you what the File Type is. See page 269 for the compatible File Types.

.x0v is a Motif XS ALL VOICE File. This cannot be read by your Motif ES. Different keyboard, different architecture, and no compatibility going in that direction.

There were four different Motifs
Motif 2001-2003
Motif ES 2003-2007
Motif XS 2007-2010
Motif XF 2010-2016

While a later model can possibly load data from an earlier model, it is not typically possible the other way. Sorry.
The files for the ES series would be grouped in pairs: .w7v and .w8v would make up an ALL VOICE file for a Motif ES.
