Hello I need some help with my Motif ES7. I have an All file (added voices and performances) on a USB that I would like to save on my 32MB or 64MB SmartMedia Card. Both cards have been formatted and have not been used. When I try to save the AUTOLOAD file to the SmartMedia Card I get a message stating the card is full. This happens maybe 45 seconds after pressing enter. Are these cards too small to save an AUTOLOAD file? What should I do? Thanks in advance.

Since the Motif ES can expand its sample memory to 512MB, via two 256MB DIMMs; so, yes, the SmartMedia cards you have could be too small. It depends...

The question is, how much memory have you placed in the ES, and how much Sample memory is used?

An Autoload file is no different from any other ALL data file, with the exception that because of its name you can have your instrument look for and load its data when you power on.

I installed 1 GB RAMM (two 512MB DIMMS). I will try to find out the amount of Sample memory being used.

How do you access how much sample memory is being used?

While in the Sampling area of the Motif ES, press the [INFORMATION] button to display current memory used out of the total memory available. (See page 276 Owner's Manual)
