Good day,
I recently purchased an ES6 on eBbay for a great price. The board is on excellent condition and works. However, there are two issues:
1. there are NO sounds in Performance Mode.
2. when you turn the board back on, it doesn't go to the sound last used like my motif used to.
More than likely, I believe that the memory was either messed with or taken out completely taken out(i haven't checked).
Either way, what do I do to remedy both problems. If not then it is what it is.
Thanks in advance for the answer....
Press [UTILITY]
Press [JOB]
Press [ENTER]
Press [YES]
This will reset the Motif ES to factory settings.
Go to http://download.yamaha.com
Select your country
Type in your MODEL NAME: Motif ES6
When the SEARCH RESULT appear verify by clicking on the Model Name: Motif ES6
Here you will find all relevant downloads for your ES, including the Owner's Manual, Data List, etc.
Page 261 of the Owner's Manual will tell you how to set your Power On Mode.
WOW, thanks a million 🙂
Now I have to find out if the memory is still there...
Question, when I reset to factory settings, I am erasing everything off it?
No, you are resetting the User memory to factory condition.
Preset sounds are never lost. They are burned into ROM.
See page 186 "MEMORY STRUCTURE" - ROM represents the permanent data. Factory Set returns the User Memory to out of the box condition.
Thanks again! 🙂
Next question is are there any recommendations for samples to buy to load onto the es and can I store them in performance mode?
A Google Search for Motif ES Libraries turns up plenty of results.
Samples must be loaded to Motif ES VOICES, you can then build Performances from those Voices.
