Yamaha S80 -- Midi Transmit question?

Is there way to not transmit Midi data when the keyboard is NOT in MASTER mode? OR to rephrase... Midi is transmitted out only when the S80 is in MASTER mode? I realize that I can "menu dive" on the S80 to turn Midi transmit on/off Globally, But that's not does work well for live performance. It would be nice to be able to somehow use the MASTER mode button to turn Midi on/off.

I have an older Yamaha P100 that has a MIDI On/OFF button. I love that button. No other keyboard (that I am aware of) has a dedicated MIDI ON/OFF button right on the front panel.

It has been a good 14-15 years since I worked the S80, but as this was the keyboard that became the Motif series, I seem to remember it works as follows:

Go to UTILITY mode and set the SYS (System) MIDI Ch > Trans (transmit) = OFF. This applies at all time except when you light the [MASTER KEYBOARD] button.

When you use the MASTER KEYBOARD function, its parameter settings will determine which MIDI channel you transmit OUT on, and when you want to "turn MIDI Off" you simply exit MASTER KEYBOARD MODE.

When [MASTER KEYBOARD] is lit, you are transmitting according to the setup within the Master Keyboard mode.
When [MASTER KEYBOARD] is Off, you are transmitting according to the UTILITY > System setting; which you've set to TRANSMIT = OFF

This is my best recollection, if this is not the case (please accept my apologies) but you can check with our Customer Service department as they still have an S80 to go over it with you. This is how the Motif-series, the MO/MOX/MOXF-series, the S90-series all work...

Thanks BAD MISTER!

Once again, You are correct. Works perfectly as you suggested. That was too easy of a fix. I should have tried that years ago; but, it never crossed my mind to try it that way.

thanks again,
