Now it is bugging me again. I figured there must be some parameter somewhere that toggled behaviour. When I first asked, I knew I had seen a "Legato" setting somewhere, but could not remember where... so I didn't push it.

Let me define the "issue" again.

This relates to "Synth Lead" type sounds in Monophonic mode.

If the Part is set to MONO (not POLY), then only the first note in a played "passage" will experience its ADSR. All played notes following the first note will "experience" only the Sustain portion of the first note's ADSR.

At this stage, it is definitely the case with FEGs. I am uncertain whether it is also the case with AEGs, or if its actually still the effects of the FEG fooling my ears.

I found the "Legato" parameter that had been lurking in my mind. It is in the XA Control. Yamaha clearly envisaged a need for this, if someone played intentionally Legato and did not wan't an attack on each note. The XA control provides an alternate Element to be played in cases of legato (I am guessing an "Offset" sample).

So, stapling the logic together, I assume that each played note, in Mono(phonic) mode, with a "Normal" XA tag... is intended to have an Attack?

The behaviour I describe, in MONO, only disappears if you deliberately "lift off" a piano key before playing the next piano key. But of course, the piece you were playing then sounds oddly Staccato.

I just find it weird. I have looked to see if there is an obvious "toggle" type switch, but cannot find one. That said, there are 100's of parms where I have no clue about what they actually do... like nipples on men 😉 ).

Can anyone shed some light?
