The Manuals tell you:-
Suffix...
_N = Use for Single Notes
_C = Use for Chords
I notice there are a lot of other naming conventions which the Manuals do not explain.
I notice lots of Arpeggio files have the following Prefixes...
MA_
MB
MC
FA
FB
FC
BA
etc.
Does anyone know what these mean?
Since there are over 10,000 files it would certainly help targeting the right files.
Google search for:
site:yamahasynth.com arpeggio "_N" "_C"

Many have repeated information. Each thread has more information on the arpeggio suffixes along with some general usage tips.

This was good stuff.
My Google seems not to find such things... although I didn't use your exact keywords.
I note in some of the Yamaha nomenclature there is an assumption that you previously owned a MOTIF/MOXF and should therefore "know these things". LOL,
Thanks again.
I'm not sure that's necessarily an assumption. It's par for the course to have the products minimally documented and encourage you organically learn the instruments through efforts, exploration, mistakes, etc. This gen we have an audition button that shows the sound designer using their own Performance - so there are some clues given there. What I really like is when an expansion pack released by a sound designer has great documentation on all of the controls and ins/outs behind the construction of the Performances. The Chick Corea set for Montage/MODX is one example. Wish there was a similar book of content for all of the presets.
Likewise, a book of the ARPs would be nice. Most of the information could be auto-generated. Like the rhythm of the ARP, max notes, ARP type (org note, fixed, etc - or control arp or not). Someone will need to do this on their own time, however.
