Changing a multi-part performance to single

I've only had my MODX6 a couple of weeks, so I'm still finding my way round and I may well be asking some dumb questions over the next few days!

One of the preset performances has a discordant 'Sound FX' in Part 1, a nice mellow pad in Part 2 and an arpeggio in Part 3. I want to discard Part 1 and 3 and create a single part performance from Part 2, but I can't find a simple way to do this. The performance editor will allow me to delete Part 3 but not Part 1, so at the moment I have created a new performance with Part 1 muted. Is there a better way?

Thanks for any help...

The first thing to remember that is that every Performance must have a part 1

The solution in your case is as follows
Highlight part 1 on your Performance home screen
Press 'copy' in the pop up box
This takes you to a screen where you can exchange parts
Exchange parts 1 & 2
You can delete part 2 and have your part 1 as desired

Hey Rodney!

Have been using one of these for a little while, and still have those moments. So don't worry, ask away. I always do, some of them super simple, even now.

On this issue:

Copy the Part from 2, to 1, this overwrites what's in 1, and then you can delete what's in 2 and 3, and save as a single part.

To do this, tap the name area of Part 2 to Select Part 2, and you'll be offered a list of things on the left, one of them is Copy. Tap this, which will bring up little menu asking what you want to copy, to where.

Shortcut for this operation, when the Part 2 is already selected, is to hold down Shift and press Edit, two buttons up from Shift. This shortcut also works for Elements, Operators and Arpeggios.

strewth. Sorry. Must have been writing at the same time. Didn't see Graham's response.

No worries - Andrew. Happens to me all the time. The message will have no responses and I'll start a response only to have someone else "reply" first. So before I get a chance to see this, I've already written a response that is fairly identical to someone else's response that beat me to the punch. I just leave my "redundant" response up since having two descriptions are sometimes helpful in case one "flavor" of response doesn't click but the other presentation does.
