Hello again, Yamaha connect is an excellent tool to drag and drop the songs directly into DAW (cubase pro 10 in my case) is it only limited to songs only? can I drag and drop pattern files into DAW as well? πŸ™‚

Songs export as MIDI. Patterns export as MIDI. Connect transfers MIDI.

Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R

MODX CONNECT has a Song Import feature, it allows you to drag the Song icon from the MODX CONNECT window into a blank Cubase Project... and it will unfold as you set the Import Options... (Preferences > MIDI > MIDI Files)

Pattern data can be imported only after you create a Pattern Chain and β€œConvert to Song”. It will then be listed along with the other Songs in the MODX CONNECT β€œSong Import” window. It is the contents of the MODX’s internal SONG Folder that can be imported via CONNECT. ([UTILITY] > β€œContents” > β€œData Utility” > tap SONG)

Alternate Method:
Each Pattern Scene can be saved as a .mid File to a USB stick and then shuttled over to the computer.

It is recommended that if you have Pattern Scenes that you want to bring into Cubase, create a quick CHAIN, convert it to a Song, then drag n drop the whole thing into Cubase... you can redivide it it with the Cubase Arranger Track.
