I figured there are tutorials out there for how to create the typical "pumping" side chain / ducking effect that more or less made Benny Benassi famous around the millennium.
Now, I'm just not sure if I could create a custom beat rhythm to use as side chain modulator, or if I'm stuck to the default ones? Like, ideally I'd like to use a kick sound that loops in a fixed interval, which probably isn't amongst the default rhythm patterns...
I of course need to be able to adjust the interval / repetition rate of the kick sound.
Would all of this be possible on the MODX?
There may be an arpeggio that will match the kick you're looking for but it would probably be easier to make a user arpeggio since it takes just a few minutes to create and likely much much longer to search and find a preset arp.
Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R

Parts 2 and 3 use part 1 for a side chain and part 1 uses part 7.

Use the Envelope Follower function instead of Side Chain to cut straight to the chase and save yourself an FX Block.
Use the Rhythm Pattern button to quickly audition Drum Arpeggios. The secret is in understanding the Arpeggio naming conventions. Regardless, you can play through them in short order.
