Duplicated midi data

Hi,

I am experiencing a strange problem with duplicated midi in data coming from the USB MODX-1 midi channel. I cleaned the Yamaha/Steinberg USB driver installation and re-installed the latest 2.0.4 driver for Windows 10 64bit, but the problem is still there.
Connecting a plain midi monitoring tool, I see the following (key on/off example):

90 3C 44
91 3C 44
92 3C 44
93 3C 44
90 3C 00
91 3C 00
92 3C 00
93 3C 00

Of course that causes weird things with the sound engine. Seems like midi track/channel numbers 0-3 are sent in parallel. Is that expected?

Testing on another computer did not show the same results, everything was totally ok there. (maybe some hidden setting that I forgot...)

Any hint or advice would be very much appreciated!

Thanks
Roland

Ahhh. Remembered it. Of course!

When a performance has more than one part, then you get events from more than one midi channel...

Sorry. Sometimes asking a question is the key... but I was so convinced that my recent hardware changes and computer re-installs messed up something.

Cheers!

when the “MIDI I/O Mode” = Multi

Press [UTILITY] > “Settings” > “Advanced” > MIDI I/O Mode = Multi

If you set the “MIDI I/O Mode” = Single or Hybrid, you can select a single MIDI CH on which to Transmit and Receive.

Single Mode = only the KBD CTRL Parts are available
Hybrid Mode = the KBD CTRL Parts are available on the selected MIDI Channel, but all non-KBD CTRL Parts transmit/receive on the correspondingly number Channel.

Classic! In my early professionel live I had a nice colleague asking me for support frequently. Shortly before he finished explaining his problem, he usually found the solution himself (he was a clever guy). I adviced him to buy an inflatable doll and talk to her first BEFORE approaching me. Just kidding...
